Abstract The present study aims at development of a mathematical model for the fixed-bed column adsorption that relates reactor parameters with breakthrough curve. Effects operating like bed height, flow rate, initial adsorbate concentration on were investigated by using various curves. arbitrary constants developed found to be dependent kinetics. proposed showed incredible results (Breakthrough Curve R 2 > 0.98) referenced data. flexibility this can seen from fact coefficients in Arbitrary Constants Relation adsorbate–adsorbent pair are required determined only once and used repeatedly considering no change any external factors affecting working adsorbent. As general curve follows typical sigmoid curve, Relations known, optimized selecting accurate values parameter leading slower C t / o growth respect time. information about saturation limit adsorbent predict attainment limit. will reduce significant number complicated experiments optimize reactor. also determine time after which effluent becomes 63.21% influent without experimentation Relation, is great industrial importance.
